Animal Rights Activists Are Not Terrorists

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

I remember when the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (AETA) came out. Its potential chilling effects on freedom of speech were obvious from the beginning due to its overly broad wording.

The good news, as the video reports, is the constitutionality of the law is now being challenged by a group of activists with the assistance of the Center for Constitutional Rights in Blum v. Holder. They say they have indeed felt that aforementioned chill on their advocacy work. Let’s wish them luck in stemming the eroding tide!

Fountain of Youth?

Sunday, March 4th, 2012

A friend of mine sent me a link to this video, which we both immediately agreed I should post on the blog. It’s an amazing anecdote in favor of a raw food vegan diet. She looks great… and the food does too. :)

We both remarked on how odd it was hubby never joined her (or maybe sad is the more appropriate adjective) and further that he still continues to hold out even as she is reaping the rewards. It’s never too late to start feeling better with a healthy, vegan (raw?) diet!

What didn’t surprise me was the typical news story ending with one of the desk jockeys quipping, “full time job prepping all that food.” Seems they always have to give the viewing public that ready excuse for not making a positive change, right? Same thing goes for stories on calorie restriction. Like it’s a major hardship to keep track of what you put into your body.
