Coconuts: Good For Something After All

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

A recent article entitled Zap Fat with Fat? from Eating Well Magazine reminded me I had this cheeky post queued up since January.

At the time, this story about using coconuts for car parts had me declaring, “Finally a good use for coconuts!”

Certainly, its oil, consisting of 90% saturated fat rather seldom makes it into my bloodstream. Actually, I don’t even remember the last time. Probably, as some nefarious under-the-radar ingredient in an ostensibly “healthy” vegan treat.

Green Smoothie Recipe Generator

Monday, March 9th, 2009

I’d always imagined Green Smoothie Central would be a big hit.

The idea was to start you off with over 50 recipes from the two plus weeks that got me hooked on these drinks and provide a safe, spam-free, forum where you could feel comfortable sharing your goals and progress. Rather than paying for a guided cleanse every few months, you’d be able to get one started whenever you wanted.

Alas, such has not been the case. So, I’ve completely redone the forums and added a free payment option for the lifetime membership. (The others are still there as well, if you prefer.)

And, just this morning, I spent entirely too much time creating the Green Smoothie Recipe Generator with literally thousands of possible combinations. (I hope to add even more ingredients over time). Enjoy!

Raw Cleanse Reviews

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Having noticed there are several raw food cleanses about to get underway, I spent the other day putting together a comparison chart, based on their salespages, of what four of the top programs offer.

Raw Food “Cleanses” Head-to-Head

I hope you find it helpful and timely (some have promotional pricing).

Note: I’ve not done them myself, so if you’re able to clear up any of the question mark items or notice other changes down the road, please let me know, and I’ll keep it updated.

Raw Done Light Across America

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Being unemployed certainly hasn’t meant being without work. I’ve actually been very busy, and you’ll be hearing about some of these labors of love over the next couple months as they take shape.

For starters, I now have everything in place to kick off the latest book project. This is going to be a lot of fun, and I want YOU to participate! Let’s see who and what’s un-cooking (the healthy, low-fat, way) across the country.

We all know how diverse regional cuisines can be, but they’re seldom translated into raw versions. Instead, a certain, heavy, homogeneity seems to prevail. Whether you agree or think I’m wrong, that’s perfect. Show us what you’ve got!   ;)

As of this announcement, only little ‘ole NH is in green. Though, to be honest, I haven’t decided on the particulars of my local flair yet, so if there’s a New Hampshirite out there who wants to steal my spot…

So, come on, fill out the rest! Hop on board, and tell your friends from other states to join in. To get all the details, visit the campaign page at Raw Done Light Across America.

You don’t have to be from the US to participate, but as soon as the map says so, we’re going live!
