Peanut Butter Product Recalls

The steady stream of voluntary peanut butter-related product recalls continues unabated, including some foods my readers may have in their cupboards.

For example, Larabar Peanut Butter Cookie bars, Jamfrakas Peanut Butter Blisscrisp snack bars, and Nature’s Path Peanut Butter Optimum Energy Bars.

Whole Foods has also recalled several products, among them those delicious Dancing Stars’ Chunks of Energy Carob/Hawaiian Spirulina.

Inauguration: A Most Inspiring Lunch

There can hardly be a more uplifting and historic event in our lifetimes than the inauguration of Barack Obama as our 44th President of the United States of America.

What a lunch break! I hope you all got a chance to watch.

Speaking of history, my Dad suggested I check out the HBO miniseries John Adams. I’m about halfway thru it, catching a little each night and weekend. You come away with a whole new appreciation of the risks our forebears took and the very real dangers they faced in seeking our independence.

Well, back to work…

Belated Happy New Year

I’ve been real busy lately between the newsletter, getting Patricia’s book published, and SHOVELING. It’s been worth it though…

Yesterday, I hit send on the New Year’s resolution edition of the newsletter. And, I’m already getting compliments. I also added a bonus Weight Loss Strategies report to the book download, available for free until the end of February. Pat didn’t know about that one.

Just a random comfort food shot from my digital camera. Consider it an ode to the back-breaking snow. It’s been falling non-stop today, and I’ve been out there several times already. Makes for good exercise though, so I don’t mind too much.

Oh, one more thing. I made the list. Well, a list anyway. I’m in the vegetarian section of Alisa Miller’s 100 Best Natural Wellness Blogs. Thanks, Alisa! It’s an honor.

Wake Up To Spice

That’s the sage (pun not intended) advice from Dr. Patricia Sant, Ph.D., co-owner of the Yahoo! group vegetarianspice, among several others.

It’s also the title of her new vegan cookbook. She put a lot into this collection and is rightfully a very proud “mama.” I mean, seriously, take a look at these mouth-watering dishes!
