Kramnik 1 – Anand 1

A little more action in Game 2. This time it was Kramnik who held the draw less a pawn as black. However, the general consensus is Anand called it quits too early. Apparently, he was down to just a couple minutes to make eight moves. The gloves are off!

Kramnik 0.5 – Anand 0.5

Not much to say about the first game of the 2008 World Chess Championship today except

  1. It was your typical feeling out match opener.
  2. It’s great they’re finally re-reunifying the title (though I suppose there’s a re-re-reunification in the near future).
  3. If you’re an Anand fan, you have to be happy with how easily he achieved the draw (after going a pawn down).

That’s the day the World Chess Championship between Viswanathan Anand and Vladimir Kramnik gets underway. I’m psyched!
